Cooking bacon in the oven is the easiest way to get consistently delicious results. Forget the splatters and uneven cooking. This method ensures every strip is cooked to perfection, whether you prefer it crispy or slightly chewier.

The Simple Method

  1. Preheat: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange: Lay bacon strips in a single layer on a baking sheet. For easier cleanup and crispier results, line the sheet with foil or parchment paper, or place a wire rack on the sheet and lay bacon on the rack.
  3. Bake: Cook for 15-20 minutes. Thicker cuts or back bacon might need a few extra minutes. Keep an eye on it after 12 minutes to achieve your desired crispness.
  4. Drain: Carefully remove the bacon from the oven and transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease.

This method works for both regular and thick-cut bacon, delivering that craveable flavor with minimal effort.
