Simple Lobster Tail Cooking
Cooking lobster tails at home is surprisingly easy and yields luxurious results. Whether fresh, frozen, or thawed, a delicious lobster tail is within reach.
Baking or Broiling
For a classic preparation, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for baking or set to broil. Butterfly the lobster tail by cutting down the top shell with kitchen shears, then gently pulling the meat up and over the shell. Brush with melted butter, season with salt and pepper. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or broil for 5-8 minutes until the meat is opaque and white. Smaller tails (4 oz) will cook faster.
Boiling Lobster Tails
Boiling is a straightforward method. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add lobster tails and cook for 5-8 minutes, or until the shells turn bright red and the meat is cooked through. For frozen tails, ensure they are fully thawed before boiling.
Enjoy your perfectly cooked lobster tail with a squeeze of lemon and more butter.
