Quick & Easy Croutons
Transform stale bread into delicious, crispy croutons in minutes. This simple method guarantees perfect texture for your salads and soups. Use any bread – sourdough, baguette, or even sandwich bread – about 1-inch thick. Toss cubes with olive oil and your favorite seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and herbs like rosemary or thyme.
Baking or Pan-Frying
For oven-baked croutons, spread seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy. For pan-fried croutons, heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add seasoned bread cubes and cook, stirring frequently, until all sides are golden and crisp. This method offers a quick, stovetop alternative.
Store your homemade croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
