How to Roast Garlic
Roasting garlic transforms sharp cloves into sweet, creamy bites. It’s incredibly simple and versatile.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice off the top quarter of a whole garlic bulb, exposing the cloves. Drizzle generously with olive oil, then wrap tightly in foil. Place on a baking sheet.
Roast for 40-50 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and caramelized. The time depends on the bulb size. You can also roast individual peeled cloves tossed in oil, which will cook faster – about 20-25 minutes.
Cool slightly before squeezing the soft garlic paste from the skins.
